Uncle Sam's Boys Win the Gold Cup

The United States continued its dominace over Mexico on American soil with its 2-1 Gold Cup Finals victory. What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than a fireworks goal from Benny Feilhaber. It is a cracker of a goal off a bad clearance from Mexico, a one time strike from just outside the penalty area.

A great goal from rising US National team star.

About Benny Feilhaber
Feilhaber, was six years old when his family moved from Brazil to settle in the United States. He attended UCLA where he became a mainstay in the Bruins’ midfield. Surprisingly, Feilhaber made the team as a walk-on, rather than being recruited with a scholarship offer.

Messi = Mardonna! Its the Hand of God now!

In the Sunday, April 29 postings the we highlighted Lionel Messi scoring a Mardonna like goal. He dribbled six defenders for a magical finish. The similarities to Mardonna's 1986 World Cup goal against England, were uncanny.

Who says history does not repeat itself?

Messi has done it again! This time scoring a handball goal just like Mardonna's "hand of God goal" again against England in the 86 World Cup. It took Messi two different games to repeat the feat, but he has done it.

The video highlights Messi, faking a header and punching the ball into the net for a goal. Note how the entire team prostests to the linesman and the ref. After watching this it begs how can LA Liga and the EPL not have instant replay for goals. This goal would have been overturned in 10 seconds.

Check the Video on the right for the Mardonna goal.

Pele Goal World Cup Goal

This week we are going old school with a Pele goal against Mexico in the 1962 World Cup. This goal is able will, determination and drive. Pele beats defenders, wins a ball and finishes. Brilliant. Everything we love in a goal.

Enjoy.
